A money market is a market for instruments and a means of lending and borrowing funds for relatively short periods, typically regarded as from one day to one year. It is a market for short-term securities issued on a negotiable basis. These short-term securities are actively traded in a secondary market. The prices and types of these securities are closely related to those of the newly issued instruments.
